Bobby Sanabria and his Big Band receives two Grammy nominations for the 55th Grammy Awards:
- Best Latin Jazz Album - <i>Multiverse</i>
- Best Instrumental Arrangement "Afro-Cuban Jazz Suite for Ellington" from <i>Multiverse</i>
These are Bobby's sixth and seventh Grammy nominations as a bandleader.

In the current issue (December 2012) of the world's leading jazz magazine, Downbeat, Multiverse is listed as one of the top 100 CDs of 2012.

On November 30 Bobby was honored by Comite Noviembre, the leading organization for Puerto Rican culture in the country with its Puerto Rican Heritage Award for Bobby's activism in getting the Latin Jazz category re-instated to the Grammys. The annual gala also honored NY Daily News journalist, documentary film producer Juan Gonzalez and several others. The ceremony took place at the New York Hilton and the award was given to Bobby by nine time Grammy Award winner Paquito D'Rivera and his wife opera singer Brenda Feliciano.

On November 16 at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center in NYC Bobby was presented with the BORIMIX Award presented by SEA (The Society of the Educational Arts). The award celebrated Bobby's community activism, musicianship and continued work in music education in the jazz world.

Below is a link to a recent interview I did on Maria Hinojosa's One On One show on PBS. As many of you know, Maria is an award winning author, producer, reporter for CNN, Bill Moyer's Journal, and is the host of a weekly radio show broadcast nationally on NPR, Latino U.S.A.
One On One is a show she hosts on PBS which features in depth interviews with Latinos who have made a mark in the arts, sciences, and politics and airs nationally. The show is always a 1/2 an hour in length and features only one guest.
